This time we had time to experience Level Up in its entirety. So we were able to play all the games on offer and watch or even take part in one or two community tournaments! From League of Legends to Rocket League and Mario Kart to Valorant and Fortnite to Tetris and Connect 4, everything was played at least once.

In addition to the games on offer, the fourth edition of Morekats Mayhem and the ESSL national championships in Valorant were presented on the main stage, which was also on our “must see” list. We also used the time to talk to other eSports organisations and made a few new contacts!

A special highlight was also the LudeCat event, where teams of spectators could form and compete against each other in mini-games. The whole thing was set up as a tournament, so the first two rounds served as qualifiers for a third final round. Our CEO Hexis.TheHakon put in a strong performance here and qualified us for the final. This was then completed by Hexis.Fafnir with an equally solid performance, securing us third place and a place on the podium!

But the coolest experience came when Level Up officially ended. After the visitors had left the halls, all the eSports organisations were allowed to go on stage and take a picture together – of course we didn’t let ourselves be told twice!

So Level Up 2023 is now coming to an end for us and we are taking many very nice memories with us. Every single person got their money’s worth and we would like to thank all the organisers who made this event possible! Next year we will definitely be there again – maybe even with our own booth? 👀

But how did it all come together?
Almost 2 years ago, Hexis eSports approached BingBong eSports and asked if they would like to join Hexis eSports. After approval, many tournaments were played and also changes to the roster were made before the final constellation could emerge

Seit Mai 2021 ist Hexis.Arni festes Mitglied bei Hexis eSports gewesen und hat uns in vielen verschiedenen Gebieten bereichert. Zuerst als Teammitglied und später dann als Team Captain, gelang es ihm, das Team in einer Topform zu bringen und so in verschiedenen Turnieren durchgehend in der Top5, Top3 oder sogar als Sieger hervorzugehen! Er meisterte die Schwierigkeiten des Amateur-eSports, wie zum Beispiel die langwierige Suche nach den passenden Teammitgliedern oder auch das Motivationsmanagement, und kann sich somit nicht nur als erfahrener Spieler, sondern auch als erfahrener Teammanager bezeichnen.

Arni ist in jeglicher Hinsicht eine Bereicherung für Hexis eSports gewesen und wir danken ihm für alles, was er für und mit uns getan hat! Viel Erfolg bei deinem weiteren Karriereabschnitt – du wirst uns fehlen!

With the 9€ ticket, everyone was able to travel very cheaply, but some of them needed 14 hours to arrive in Salzburg because of the local transport. But that didn’t put anyone off, everyone wanted to see their Hexis crew as well as the festival!

On Saturday, at 9am sharp for the opening of the second day, all four members were gathered and eager to find out what the festival had to offer! From a Main Stage for events in the games Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends as well as a Cosplay Contest and much more, to an Indie Games Area, a Retro Area and even a Tabletop Area & Card Corner, everything was represented. Some eSports organisations, such as Alpenfestung eSports or Munic eSports, were also represented. Really very cool people, be sure to check them out!

Of course we also played ourselves, both in a 1v1 tournament and casual! In the latter, we were even filmed by Red Bull Austria!

The absolute highlight for everyone, however, were the League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive events on the main stage. It was incredible fun to experience an offline event like these, to scream and swear when your favourite wins or loses, and of course to feel the atmosphere within the crowd!

In conclusion: This definitely needs to be repeated! Level Up 2022 was a complete success and definitely a must for all eSports and gaming fans in the DACH area! See you next year Salzburg!!!
